With modular and scalable control and safety functions, our systems enable the safe and efficient use of depot resources, minimise waiting times and ensure the optimum positioning and movement of rail vehicles. The result is increased productivity and effective depot management.

Depot control systems

Depot control systems are used for scheduling, monitoring, securing and controlling shunting traffic in the area of depots, workshops and stabling facilities. They thus provide comprehensive support for transport companies in the provision, care and maintenance of the rail-bound vehicle fleet. By integrating a train control computer, frequently recurring shunting sequences can be automated and the utilisation of functional tracks (workshop, wagon washing, testing facilities, etc.) can be conveniently planned in advance. Stadler depot control systems fulfil the technical requirements for signalling systems in accordance with BOStrab and VDV regulations. As a rule, BTH systems comply with safety level SIL2. On customer request, realisation according to SIL 3 is also possible.

Depot control systems consist of two functional levels: At the non-safe signalling level, automatic presence messages received from the track (transponder, induction, infrared, etc.) or manual entries via control keypads or terminals are transferred to the train control computer. This uses stored data to determine the required route and transfers this information as a request to the safety level. In addition, the signalling level displays the destination track as well as the tracking and graphical display of the train movement after a route has been set. The safety level ensures safe checking, implementation and protection of requested routes. It is modularly subdivided into controller, signalling, points and track vacancy detection levels. Other safety-relevant elements (e.g. barrier or gate controls) can be integrated into the safety level.
